Crew cut
Short on the sides, slightly longer on top, swept up or to the side.
Norwood 1–3StraightWavyNot ideal for a thin crown
- Why it works with thinning hair
- Short enough that thinning does not show, long enough to still feel like a haircut. Works well when the hairline is still mostly intact.
- Best for these stages

What to tell your barber
Crew cut, please. Number 2 or 3 on the sides, tapered up, and about an inch on top that I can push slightly up or to the side.
How to style it
- Small amount of matte product, push the front slightly up.
- Keep it textured, not slick.
- Products
- Matte clay
- Upkeep
- Every 3–4 weeks
A good cut makes thinning less noticeable, but it does not stop it. For that, see finasteride vs minoxidil.
