Textured crop
Short, choppy top pushed forward with a fade on the sides.
Norwood 2–4StraightWavyHides a thin crown
- Why it works with thinning hair
- The forward fringe covers the temples, and choppy texture makes thinner hair look denser. Short sides make the top look fuller by contrast.
- Best for these stages

What to tell your barber
Textured crop, please. Mid or low fade on the sides, about 1.5 to 2 inches on top, point-cut for texture, and leave a short fringe that falls forward. Keep the crown a little longer so it blends.
How to style it
- Towel-dry, then work a pea-sized amount of matte clay through dry hair.
- Push everything forward with your fingers and leave it a bit messy.
- Skip combs. Fingers keep the texture that hides thin spots.
- Products
- Matte clay or paste · Sea salt spray for extra grip (optional)
- Upkeep
- Every 3–4 weeks
A good cut makes thinning less noticeable, but it does not stop it. For that, see finasteride vs minoxidil.
